We had discussed the idea of running babel over batman-adv on the IRC Channel #batman.I am currently working on the same.I was curious about the commit https://github.com/jech/babeld/commit/8d4d2c9e763ae1e04a0fb3486b222ec8a3ce3b... you elaborate on what does it facilitate also what is present status of the same.

It simply treat batman-adv interfaces like bat0 as wireless by default
