Hmm, I think I'd also favour SPAN routing protocol so far. Things I came up with, were DIPD (Decentral Intelligence, Proactive Distribution) or SIRPD (Swarm Intelligence, Proactive Distribution) or SIMR (Swarm Intelligence Mesh Routing). I found the discription on Wikipedia about swarm intelligence quite fitting in this context, "[...] interacting locally [...] very simple rules [...] no centralised control structure".
