batman-adv doesn't care about the wifi device mac implementation. It just has to be a working implementation (aka working implementation in the mode you are using). I don't know whether the IBSS mode of AR6003 is broken or not.

I don't understand your question. I though you wanted to use batman-adv to "extend" the IBSS.
