From: Andreas Pape <APape(a)phoenixcontact.com> If dat is enabled it must be made sure that only the backbone gw which has claimed the remote destination for the ARP request answers the ARP request directly if the MAC address is known due to the local dat table. This prevents multiple ARP replies in a common backbone if more than one gateway already knows the remote mac searched for in the ARP request. Hi, Here is a first patchset to reintroduce aggregation support for BATMAN V, too. And while at it, for BATMAN VI, VII... etc, as well - in fact, it allows aggregating any batman packet with a broadcast destination ;). I am sending it as an RFC for now as compat code is still missing. And although it was tested in VMs, I still need to do some stress testing on some embedded routers. Hi everyone, A student who is collaborating with me, Andrei, cc'ed, is carrying out traffic performance analysis in a mesh network (which uses batman-adv) in order to compare the benefits of introducing Simplemux [1]. Basically, simplemux multiplexes small packets in bigger packets and compresses them to reduce overhead. These packets are then sent through a tunnel to another end in the network. So far, simplemux shows very positive results by creating the tunnel in between two computers connected at each end of a multihop network composed by a chain of 5 nodes. The idea would be to test the performance benefits of simplemux when the tunnels are created between the mesh nodes instead, so they could aggregate, let's say, all the VoIP packets from different SIP clients calling other SIP clients in the mesh or via the gateway. The tunnels can be successfully created in OpenWRT, but it fails when assigning the physical interface the tunnel should use. Does anyone have any numbers or a link to some performance metrics of batman-adv on wired interfaces? I have a little project and I want to see how batman-adv will work in place of RSTP for making a ring network (or multiple rings). How close to wire-speed can batman-adv get on 1Gbps full duplex ethernet links. What I'm really looking for is using batman-adv as a SPB alternative providing transparent layer2 connectivity with not only redundant paths, but best paths.

Other modules like ipvlan, macvlan, and others treat NET_XMIT_CN as success too. So batman-adv should add the NET_XMIT_CN check.
