Thank you very much. Now I have an ad-hoc network if not a batman adhoc network. They all report no nodes in range. In x-wrt I changed all the channels to 10, mode ad-hoc, essid project. I set the lan i.p. to 103.0.0.* (the number of the router). I also added a startup script but it doesn't seem to be run. If I run batman -d 4 eth0.0 eth0.1 wl0 I am only receiving data from that machine (same ip) if I grep -v its ip there's nothing except for "no nodes in range." The routers are all connected I can ssh into any of them 3-8 but I can only get internet if I'm attached to the router plugged in to the internet. I tried changing the preferred gateway to the machine 103.0.0.3 with an internet connection but it didn't work. I didn't change the bssids as you recommended, but it seems there is no bssid splitting. (Oh, it reports 11 clients, I'm running six routers right now...) I have 8 wrt54gl's running openwrt + batman. I set all to auto channel + ad-hoc. I guess I should start with: 1. How should I set up the preferred gateway? 2. what do I need to do besides batmand interface? 3. I was looking at some routing some of the udp packages batman needs. well iptables -F killed the router (that would make sense, flushing the iptables on a router)... I'm very unsure about a few things. when I type ifconfig on the wrt54gl I have following devices br-lan eth0 eth0.0 eth0.1 lo wl0 the web interface on x-wrt offers me br-lan and eth0.1 by default and eth0.0 once I bring it up on the cli. so I use ssh and start batmand br-lan eth0.0 eth0.1 at one point I had vlan0 but it disappeared without my (consciously) disabling it. I chose eth0.0 as the primary interface and routing class 1. ifconfig eth0.0 103.0.0.(number of router) netmask 255.0.0.0 broadcast 103.255.255.255 I'll try ifconfig br-lan 103.0.0.* and use it as the primary interface.

I've been trying to get batman running on a a few wrt54gl's with openwrt kamikaze + x=wrt. Has anyone on the list had success with this? I am unsure about the wireless mode. I thought ad-hoc, but I've also tried client and ap mode. I tried batmand br-lan batmand eth0:1 I've tried running several all on channel 1. And they reported there were no batman nodes in range. What have I left out?

Hi, last months we have worked on a RFC draft to document the B.A.T.M.A.N. protocol. Finally, the day has come to publish the results. You can find the draft in our document section (https://www.open-mesh.net/batman/doc). Simon is going to send the draft to the RFC editors to start making it a real standard.
